Brush Grommet Extrusion
To make installing continuous brush grommet strips easier and cleaner, I designed this T-shaped plastic extrusion with a cosmetic top flange, to cover the mounting edge or cutout. The extrusion can be used alone for straight edge installations, or assembled into a frame for cutout installations; the original concept featured a rounded, molded end. The production version foregoes that in favor of using only the extrusion, with mitered ends. The brush strip is mounted into one of two slots on the inner face, while the other slot holds a connector plate for frame assembly. The extrusion was first offered in 6’ lengths, only black, with mitered ends available, and has been successful enough that custom lengths and complete pre-cut frames are now sold by Doug Mockett & Company in three different colors: BREXT.
